Edale, Peak District

Edale is a quaint Derbyshire valley surrounded by some of the Peak District’s most stunning landscapes, and is the start of the UK’s most famous long-distance walking path – the Pennine Way.

The lower valley is rich with farmland, but provides access to some of the main routes onto Kinder Scout, like Crowden Clough, Grindsbrook Clough, Jacobs Ladder and Ladybooth Brook.

There are some wonderful pockets of woodland in both the main valley and the side valleys up onto Kinder Scout. On the way up, there are also some intriguing windswept trees on the hillsides.
