Cannock Chase AONB, Staffordshire

Cannock Chase is a mixed area of countryside in Staffordshire, and a former royal forest. It is the UK’s smallest designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It contains a mixture of ancient native woodland, coniferous plantations and open healthland that are rich in wildlife. I have been visiting the area since I was a very young child, with close family friends growing up nearby. I frequently return to photograph the Chase even today because it has its own unique charm and character that is difficult to find in other locations.
