The Chiltern Hills AONB

I have lived in or on the edge of the Chilterns for the past eight years. It’s an area I’m still exploring, but one that continues to surprise me with its stunning natural beauty. It is a difficult area to photograph because it lacks the drama of areas like the Peak District, Lake District and further north in Scotland, but it is nevertheless very rewarding.

The Chiltern Hills AONB is full of quaint villages and hamlets that look particularly beautiful in Spring when gardens and streets come to life with bursts of colour. Unfortunately, with construction work on HS2 underway, an irreplaceable scar will be left running through the landscape.
