Hatfield Park, Hertfordshire

Hatfield Park, home to Hatfield House, has been a favourite place to visit since we moved to the area in 2016. Formerly a country estate for the royal family, it’s home to some incredible ancient trees (some are perhaps 1,000 years old) and a mixed variety of woodland and parkland. It’s said that Queen Elizabeth I learned of her succession to the throne while sitting under one of Hatfield Park’s trees.

It’s a location I had all but written off creatively, but it became a regular haunt in 2020 as part of my daily exercise. I have since discovered its many wonders, and I’m pleased with the body of work I’ve produced there in a fairly short timeframe.
