The Orchestra I - Limited Edition Print
I discovered this scene during the summer but, as is the nature with silver birches, their leaves often hide the beautiful branch structures. The silvery bark and delicate, droopy branch structures make these trees a personal favourite of mine so I had felt it would be worth revisiting in late autumn and, in a variety of wintry conditions. The branches appeared to be playing together in harmony, a bit like an orchestra. This version was made on a foggy December morning, and I had waited for long enough for the sun to start breaking through in the background to add a subtle, warm shaft of light amongst the grey morning murk.
Print details
This image is printed on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 308gsm paper. This is quite a smooth, heavyweight paper that produces muted blacks and even colour reproduction. It is perfect for misty scenes with subtle, muted colours.
Edition
It’s part of a limited edition run of 20 at 14 x 11in, 10 at 20 x 16in and 5 special editions at 36 x 29in.
