Sharpenhoe Clappers, Bedfordshire

Located in the northern part of the Chiltern Hills AONB, Sharpenhoe Clappers is an ancient beech woodland on top of a chalk escarpment. There is evidence of an iron age hill-fort amongst the trees, as well as the remnants of a chalk quarry. There is a mix of interesting trees, and good light at both the beginning and end of the day, making it a location I now return to frequently.
