One-to-one Workshop - Half Day

from £169.00

My 1-2-1 workshops can be tailored for all levels of photographer. My half-day workshops last for a minimum of 4 hours, during which we will explore one or more nearby locations and conduct an image review at the end of the day's shoot. If you are happy to meet early in the morning, we can start with a dawn shoot. A head torch will be essential.

I have worked with beginners who have just bought their first proper camera, photographers who already have good camera craft but want to improve their compositional skills, and right up to experienced photographers who are looking to master the art of woodland photography.

All of my workshops are conducted in woodland that I am very familiar with, so I will not only be your instructor but also your local guide. I'll take you to some of my favourite areas of these woodlands, using the intimate knowledge I have built up over years of frequent visits in all seasons.

If you have a friend or partner you'd like to bring along, I can do that too. But, unlike my group workshops, I like to keep these focused with no more than two participants so that you get the most from our time together.

At a minimum, I recommend bringing a camera with an aperture priority or manual exposure mode, a sturdy tripod and suitable footwear. If you don’t have a tripod, I can loan you one for the day. The terrain is light to moderate, and the ground is likely to be muddy. Please dress appropriately as the workshop will continue in the rain – it often presents the best conditions.

Current locations: Ashridge Forest, Broxbourne Woods NNR, Burnham Beeches, Cannock Chase AONB, Dovedale, Hainault Forest, Heartwood Forest, and Padley Gorge

2 native British trees are planted in the U.K. with every half-day 1-2-1 workshop booking.
